How Taken:
Use Carisoprodol as directed by your doctor. Carisoprodol is taken orally. The usual adult dosage of Carisoprodol is three times daily and at bedtime, one 350 mg tablet. It is not recommended usage in patients under age 12. To minimize the likelihood that you will suffer an upset stomach as a result of taking the medication is recommended that you take Carisoprodol with food, or with milk.

Warnings Precautions:
If you have acute intermittent porphyria do not take Carisoprodol. Tell your doctor if you have kidney or liver disease before taking Carisoprodol. You may need a lower dose or special monitoring during your therapy. If you are pregnant do not take Carisoprodol without first talking to your doctor. Carisoprodol is not approved for use in children younger than 12 years of age. It is not known whether Carisoprodol will harm an unborn baby. . It is also not known whether Carisoprodol passes into breast milk. Do not take Carisoprodol without first talking to your doctor if you are breast-feeding a baby.

Missed Dose:
If you miss a dose of Carisoprodol and are using it regularly, take it as soon as possible. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular dosing schedule. Do not take 2 doses at once.

Side Effects:
Check with your doctor if any of these most common side effects persist or become bothersome: dizziness, vertigo, ataxia, tremor, agitation, irritability, headache, depressive reactions, syncope, and insomnia. Allergic or idiosyncratic reactions occasionally develop. They are usually seen within the period of the first to fourth dose in patients having had no previous contact with the drug. Skin rash, erythema multiforme, pruritus, eosinophilia, and fixed drug eruption with cross reaction to meprobamate have been reported with Carisoprodol. Severe reactions have been manifested by asthmatic episodes, fever, weakness, dizziness, angioneurotic edema, smarting eyes, hypotension, and anaphylactoid shock.

Storage:
Store away from heat, moisture, and light. Store Carisoprodol between 68 and 77 degrees F (20 and 25 degrees C). Brief storage at temperatures between 59 and 86 degrees F (15 and 30 degrees C) is permitted. Do not store in the bathroom. Keep Carisoprodol out of the reach of children and away from pets.

Overdose:
Seek emergency medical attention. Symptoms of a Carisoprodol overdose include low blood pressure (weakness, fainting, and confusion), decreased breathing, and unconsciousness.
