How Taken: Ask your health care provider any questions you may have about how to use Bentyl. Take Bentyl by mouth with or without food. Do not take it for a longer time than your doctor ordered, do not take more of it, do not take it more often.
Warnings Precautions: You should tell your doctor if you are or plan on becoming pregnant before taking this medicine. You have to know that stopping this medicine may cause withdrawal side effects such as vomiting, sweating, and dizziness.
Missed Dose: If you miss a dose, use it as soon as you remember. If it is near the time of the next dose, skip the missed dose and resume your usual dosing schedule. Do not use 2 doses at once.
Side Effects: Following side effects while on Bentyl treatment are possible: confusion or memory loss; difficult urination; drowsiness; dryness of mouth, nose, throat, or skin; constipationand unusual excitement, nervousness, restlessness, or irritability. Inform your doctor if you have any side effects.
Storage: Store away from heat, moisture, and light. Store Bentyl at room temperature between 68 and 77 degrees F (20 and 25 degrees C) in a tightly closed container. Brief periods at temperatures of 59 to 86 degrees F (15 to 30 degrees C) are permitted. Do not store in the bathroom. Keep Bentyl out of the reach of children and away from pets.
Overdose: The symptoms of a Bentyl overdose may include: nausea, vomiting, blurred vision, dilated pupils, hot dry skin, dizziness, dryness of the mouth, difficulty in swallowing. If you suspect an overdose, seek emergency medical attention.
More Information: Make sure you know how you react to this medicine before you drive, use machines, or do anything else that could be dangerous if you are dizzy or are not alert and clearheaded. This medicine may cause drowsiness or dizziness.
